Program Costs

To keep the program affordable - as well as to provide the context of a Christian family - each Fellow is housed with a family from the church. Each Fellow is responsible for their own transportation and health insurance. However, each Fellow keeps the earnings from their work internship, which can help offset living expenses.

Special Note: Because you will receive 12 credits at Reformed Theological Seminary for your work as part of the program, you are classified as a full-time student, which may allow you to defer student loans and retain dependent health care status. For more information on costs and deferral of student loans, see Questions and Answers.

Before beginning the program, each Fellow is responsible to raise his or her program tuition, which covers the cost of seminary class work, retreats, supplies, career mentorship, conferences, books, and other program expenses. (McLean Presbyterian Church does not earn any money from the Fellows program.) Each Fellow also is strongly encouraged to recruit prayer support from family, friends, and his or her current church community.

The tuition cost of the 2011-2012 The Capital Fellows program is $6,300. Upon acceptance into the program, each Fellow will be provided with a fundraising packet which will walk him or her through the fundraising process. For more information, see Questions and Answers.
